Passenger Protest At Sleepy Driver

A Megabus service running from London to Cardiff had a passenger protest after the driver was apparently nodding off at the wheel.

The low cost coach was reportedly seen veering between lanes and almost hit a car during its journey from London Victoria to Cardiff.

Passengers demanded the driver pull over and refused to take their seats, the police were then called to Membury services on the M4 where they gave the driver a breathe test which he passed.

A spokes person from Megabus told The Sun online; "Safety is our absolute priority, Our drivers are fully trained and we expect them to drive in a safe and professional manner at all times. “We understand that concerns were primarily raised by one passenger about the driver of a service from London to Cardiff on Wednesday night – upon hearing the concerns, the driver of the bus stopped at a service station. However, the police attended and found the driver to be perfectly fit to continue driving. In addition, the CCTV footage from the journey shows that the driver drove safely and without fault. “Our eco-driving system, which monitors driver behaviour, also shows a smooth and consistent journey with no incidents whatsoever recorded. On the night, as a gesture, a new driver took over that service and the original driver continued his shift on a different service, without any issues.”
