London Duck Tours Takes It's Last Quack
Regretfully, London Duck Tours has been forced to close down its service from 09:00 on 18th September 2017.
Thames Water has exercised its statutory rights and given notice to acquire the operators launch pad at Vauxhall where the vehicle goes from road to water. This means, regretfully, London Duck Tours’ current business of carrying fare paying passengers on the River Thames must cease from 09.00 on Monday 18th September 2017 to make way for the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel
London Duck Tours has been unable to find an alternative docking site in central London, so has been forced to close.
The company, which started in 2002, ran a famous yellow & blue amphibious DUKWs which have become a rightful London landmark by locals & tourists.
John Bigos, Managing Director of London Duck Tours said in a statement on their website: “The 18th September will be a very sad day for the company, which was going from strength to strength, but it was vital not to delay construction of this much needed infrastructure project.
“Tourists worldwide and Londoners will surely miss our iconic bright yellow DUKWs travelling around town. They have become a landmark in their own right.”
We have sadly taken the London Duck Tours page down from Coachstar.co.uk but you can still take full advantage of this excellent attraction until 17th September clicking the logo below.
We will also keep an eye on the companies media to see what's next in the New Year for this operator, heres hoping they can bring something exciting to London soon.
